Privacy Policy

Short version

• No advertising.
• No third-party analytics SDKs.
• No sale of personal data.
• No tracking across apps or websites owned by other companies.
• No account is required to use MasterMD or HamBench.
• App data is designed to stay on your device unless you choose a feature that sends data elsewhere, such as CloudKit sync, callsign lookup, repeater search, export, sharing, or support contact.
• The website contact form collects only what you submit so we can reply.

Apps covered by this policy

MasterMD for macOS

MasterMD is a native macOS Markdown editor. Documents you create, open, edit, preview, or export are stored locally on your Mac or in locations you choose. MasterMD does not require an account, does not include ads, and does not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

HamBench for iOS

HamBench is a native iOS ham radio workbench for iPhone and iPad. Most features work offline. Data you enter — such as callsign and license settings, exam study progress, and OpBook log entries — is stored on your device unless you choose optional features such as CloudKit sync, callsign lookup, repeater search, GPS-based grid or repeater suggestions, Siri Shortcuts, export, sharing, or support contact.

Data we collect

Brent Parks / bpapps.dev does not operate app accounts, ad networks, analytics profiles, or tracking databases for these apps. In normal app use, bpapps.dev does not receive your documents, notes, logs, study activity, device identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information.

The following limited data may be involved only when you choose specific features:

• Contact form: If you use the bpapps.dev contact form, we receive your name, email address, selected topic, and message so we can respond. Submissions are processed by our form provider (Pageclip) to deliver your message to us. Do not include passwords, payment details, or sensitive log data in your message.
• Website traffic: Visiting bpapps.dev may create standard web server logs, such as IP address, request path, browser user agent, timestamp, and basic security/error information. These logs are used for site operation, troubleshooting, and security.
• App Store purchases/downloads: Apple may process purchase, download, crash, and app usage information through App Store and Apple developer services. bpapps.dev receives only the information Apple makes available to developers, subject to Apple’s policies.

HamBench optional features

• OpBook: Contact logs, callsigns, bands, modes, grid squares, notes, timestamps, and exported ADIF files are stored locally with SwiftData unless you choose to export, share, or sync them.
• Exam study: Practice results and topic progress are stored locally on your device.
• CloudKit / iCloud sync: If you enable OpBook sync, Apple’s iCloud service may store and sync your log data across your Apple devices. bpapps.dev does not run the iCloud infrastructure and does not receive your iCloud data.
• Location and grid square: Location is requested only when you tap a location button in OpBook or Repeaters. Location is processed on device for that feature. Reverse geocoding for repeater suggestions may use Apple’s geocoding services. bpapps.dev does not receive or store your precise location.
• RepeaterBook: If you use repeater search, search filters (such as state or city) and your network information may be sent to RepeaterBook so it can return results. The App Store build uses an API credential embedded in the app; users do not enter a RepeaterBook token in the app.
• Callook callsign lookup: If you use callsign lookup, the requested callsign and your network information may be sent to Callook so it can return callsign details.
• Siri and Shortcuts: App Intents (such as Get UTC Time or Log QSO) are handled by Apple’s Siri and Shortcuts services on your device. bpapps.dev does not receive voice audio or shortcut invocation data.
• External links: Opening FCC, ARRL, RepeaterBook, Callook, GitHub, or other external links is handled by those services and their privacy policies.

MasterMD optional features

• Documents: Markdown files and exported HTML/PDF files remain where you save them.
• Export and sharing: If you export, share, upload, or store files in a cloud folder, the destination service may process that data under its own privacy policy.
• Mermaid and preview rendering: Rendering is intended for local app functionality. Do not place secrets in documents you later export or publish.

How data is used

• To provide app functionality you request.
• To store your app settings and content locally on your device.
• To sync across your own Apple devices when you enable Apple iCloud features.
• To respond to support requests you send.
• To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the bpapps.dev website.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, targeted advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

Data sharing

bpapps.dev does not sell personal data and does not share app data with advertisers or data brokers. Data may be handled by third parties only when you choose features that require them, such as Apple iCloud, Apple App Store services, RepeaterBook, Callook, GitHub, your email provider, your cloud storage provider, or other external services you open or use.

Retention and deletion

• Local app data stays on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or remove the files yourself.
• iCloud-synced data can be managed through your Apple ID, iCloud settings, and the app’s own settings where available.
• Contact form messages may be retained as needed to handle the request, maintain records, and protect against abuse.
• Website logs are retained only as needed for operations, troubleshooting, and security.

Children’s privacy

MasterMD and HamBench are general-audience productivity/reference apps. They are not directed to children and do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your choices

• You can use the apps without creating an account.
• You can deny or revoke optional permissions such as Location in Apple Settings.
• You can avoid optional external-service features such as repeater search or callsign lookup.
• You can delete local app data by deleting files, clearing app content where available, or deleting the app.
• You can manage iCloud data through Apple’s iCloud settings.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when apps, features, services, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
